Day culinary excursion from Seville to beautiful old Cádiz

Day One – Cádiz, Walking & Tapas Tour
In just over 1 hour your English-speaking private chauffeur will take you from Seville to the charming city of Cádiz, considered the oldest continuously inhabited city in the Western world. Start the day enjoying the spectacular view of Cádiz and its beautiful Bay from the Tavira Tower, one of the watchtowers dotting the rooftops of the historic centre, used by merchants in the 18th Century to spot the ships full with goods arriving from the Americas. Today this tower houses a Camera Obscura, offering a 360° panoramic view of Cádiz.
You will enjoy with your guide a cultural and gastronomic stroll through old Cádiz in the form of a Tapas Tour. Considered by many the birthplace of tapas, Cádiz boasts a lively tapas scene, favored by the excellent fish and seafood from the Atlantic waters that surround the city. Check this out on your first stop at the Central Food Market – you will be amazed by the stunning variety of fresh fish available at the numerous fish stalls.
It’s then time to take in some local flavor, tasting the different stages of Manzanilla. This wine can only be aged in cellars located in the nearby coastal town of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, where the humidity carried in by the sea-breeze provides its special characteristics and strong Atlantic character. Learn the difference between a Manzanilla Fina or Pasada, Olorosa or Amontillada, in a tasting session at a century-old tavern.
Top off your tour savoring tasty local specialties, including Tortillitas de Camarones (shrimp fritters) or fried fish, considered an art, and prepared at specialized bars know as Freidores. Enjoy the local tapas to the fullest with your local guide while admiring the stately palace buildings and countless cozy squares of Cádiz, including the Cathedral Square, Las Flores Square – named after its numerous flower stands, Mina Square with its colonial atmosphere…
Before leaving, your chauffer can drive you along the Campo del Sur, bearing resemblance to La Habana breakwater, and the cute La Caleta Beach, flanked by the San Sebastian & Santa Catalina forts, defending the city since the 18th Century.
Take a well-earned siesta on the drive back to Seville, where your trip concludes.
