Ibérico Ham, from Farm to Fork
Three days immersion tour staying at a family-run farm
B: Breakfast / L: Lunch / D: Dinner
Day One - Ibérico pigs, ham carving & local gastronomy
Our driver will meet you in Seville in the morning. Transfer to the Aracena Natural Park, you’ll get there in just over one hour.
You’ll be welcomed in the family-run Ibérico farm where you’ll stay, located in the heart of a beautiful forest of holm and cork oak trees where Ibérico pigs roam free. Get settled in a comfortable rural house with living room, kitchen and fireplace – your base camp to explore this area.
Before lunch you’ll take a stroll through the farm – following the call of the farmer, the black Ibérico pigs will show up amongst the trees. These pigs are shy at first but they will end up getting very close. You will learn about the ancient and sustainable way in which Ibérico pigs are raised in their natural habitat.
Back in the farmhouse, while the BBQ gets ready, you’ll practice the art of Ibérico ham carving under the guidance of the farmer. You’ll then sit down to taste Ibérico pork meat grilled using vegetable charcoal from the forest where these pigs roam free – pork meat will have a whole new meaning after this meal!
After some rest – maybe a short siesta – you will visit with our driver the Arias Montano chapel and view point, the perfect spot to watch the sunset over the beautiful Aracena Natural Park.
Dinner at a very nice restaurant in the white-washed village of Alájar.
Night in the farm.

Day Two - Ibérico ham curing, lunch with a modern twist & Grotto of Marvels
This morning our local guide will join you to visit an artisan Ibérico ham producer located nearby the famous town of Jabugo – you will learn how these extraordinary hams are carefully cured, for as long as 3 years. Of course, you’ll be tasting the house ham with a glass of wine (or two…).
You’ll then visit Linares, a small white-washed village with an enchanting atmosphere. A very talented local chef will welcome you in his restaurant, before you sit down to enjoy a delicious lunch with a modern twist, you will be invited to a brief cooking demonstration in the kitchen.
After lunch our driver will take you to Aracena or, if you’d like to do some hiking, our guide can walk with you through a nice old trail that connects Linares and Aracena (about 1 hour walk). During the mushroom season our guide can show you some secret spots to pick delicious mushrooms!
In Aracena you can visit the impressive “Gruta de las Maravillas” (Grotto of Marvels) – one of Aracena’s main sights – a gallery that’s over 2.000 meters long, where stalactites and stalagmites create beautiful rooms.
For dinner you’ll savor with our guide the best local Tapas in Aracena.
