Day One – Manchego Cheese, Wine and charming Consuegra
Your English-speaking chauffeur-guide will drive you comfortably for a bit more than 2 hours through La Mancha region.
Fist stop at a private country estate elaborating Manchego cheese, organic wine and extra virgin olive oil. You will learn how Manchego cheese is made using local Manchega sheep’s milk, and you will taste this world-famous cheese, of course!
Then, enjoy a fabulous meal at a local restaurant nearby the town of Villarobledo.
Continue your drive on to Consuegra, the so-called saffron capital, where you will be lodged at a 5* boutique country hotel set in an old La Mancha farmhouse from the early 19th Century.
The evening is on your own to enjoy Consuegra, we can suggest a good restaurant or simply pop in a few bars to enjoy the local tapas and wine.

Day Two -Saffron and Windmills, the essence of La Mancha
If you are traveling during the saffron season (October), then early this morning you’ll be off for your excursion to the saffron fields, nearby Consuegra. You will participate in the saffron harvest with the roseras, learning about the peeling and toasting process.
Out of the saffron season, you will be visiting the Saffron Museum in Madridejos, to learn it all about this extraordinary product.
In either case, you will have the opportunity to visit a universal icon of this region: one of the famous windmills of La Mancha, which Don Quixote fought with.
Top off your stay in La Mancha with a nice meal, made of the tastiest local ingredients, at a popular restaurant in the area, before your return drive to Madrid.
