These “societies” are ancient institutions in the area, a type of cooking club where Basques have shared their good humor, songs, and gastronomic wisdom for centuries.

Start your cookery day with a guided visit to La Brecha food market in the company of our local chef & cooking instructor: the colorful vegetables from the Caseríos (Basque farmhouses) and the fresh seafood from the nearby fishing villages will definitely open your appetite!

Then, it´s a short walk to the members-only Gastronomic Society where, with the help of our personable chef, with long experience in professional kitchens of London and New York, you’ll be welcomed to cook a complete, authentic Basque menu, including signature dishes such as Hake in Green Sauce or Pantxineta…Then, sit down with some fine Spanish wine and enjoy the dishes you prepared as lunch.
